4 Of the Best

Happy anniversary to my handsome hubby! It seems as though each of the past 1460 days has brought some kind of new “adventure” to the table and most certainly not all “highlight reel” worthy. We’ve been through a lot as a team, yet we still (obviously) have SO much to learn…

Last year alone was met with more changes and tragedy than we imagined, elements of “life” we never thought we would need to face, or at least this soon. We said hello and goodbye to our angel son, Michael, job changes, prepping for a cross country move, missed holidays, etc. We spent most of last year, about 9 months to be exact, living apart due to training and a new job. Long distance marriage and single parenting definitely brought it’s own set of challenges.

Navigating the difficulties and joys as a team has been the most demanding yet rewarding experiences of my life. When I look back, through all the ugly, through all the hard, the uncomfortable, the lonely nights, the sleepless nights, the i’m-so-happy-to-finally-see-you embraces, the weekend adventures, the happy tears, the dreaded airport drop-offs, the stamina we needed to make it to the next day with smiles on our faces, the missed milestones, the countless moments of bravery and determination… I can’t help but to stand a little taller (a little tired) but a little taller nonetheless. To see how far we have come, how much we’ve grown, both together and as individuals…. I am so, so proud of us.
